Health and Safety Policy Statement

The Managing Director and Directors ensure so far as is reasonably practicable that BKS Plastics Limited (BKS) undertakes to fulfil its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent legal provisions under which:-

  • Plant and systems of work shall be safe and without risk to health
  • Arrangements for safety and the absence of risk in connection with the use handling, storage and transport of articles shall be maintained
  • Information, instruction, training and supervision as necessary to ensure the health and safety of employees and other persons shall be provided
  • The workplace shall be safe and without risk to health and safety and have means of access and egress that are safe and without risk
  • A safe working environment shall be provided for employees and other people who could be affected by The Organisation’s activities without risks to health along with adequate facilities and welfare arrangements


In pursuance of The BKS Health and Safety Policy, The Managing Director and Directors take all reasonable practical steps to ensure that resources are made available to enable The Organisation to comply with contractual commitments, all relevant health and safety legislation, and operate in line with codes of practice and other authoritative guidance where practicable.


To assist compliance with its statutory and common law duties, The Organisation ensures that appropriate insurance cover is provided for employees in the unlikely event of death, injury and disease suffered, arising out of and in the course of employment, if caused by negligence and or breach of statutory duties on behalf of The Organisation.


All Company employees are required to commit themselves through their contracts of employment to compliance with the requirements of all relevant health and safety legislation principally The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and to co-operate with The Management of BKS to enable The Organisation to carry out its duties. Failure on the part of individuals to comply with health and safety requirements may lead to dismissal; which may take immediate effect.


The health and safety policy of The Organisation may be referenced to Section 2(3) of The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and emphasises the commitment on behalf of Directors and Employees to effective occupational health and safety. The Organisation requires Customers and Visitors present upon Company Premises to respect and uphold this health and safety policy statement. The health and safety policy of (BKS) is regularly reviewed and revised where deemed appropriate to reflect The Organisation’s desire to continually improve its health and safety performance, where opportunities arise.


The daily management of health and safety is a requirement of all personnel, and is facilitated through a documented organisational structure incorporating key health and safety roles and skills culminating with ownership of health and safety matters at the highest level within the organisation.
